Basic Training I - Just get started!
Basic knowledge of lighting planning
Lighting technology, lighting & (O)LED
________
This training helps you to get a first insight into the basics of lighting. Most relevant units, technologies and parameters of lighting technologies are presented in a systematic way. Furthermore, we focus on refurbishments (energetical calculations).
_______
This full-day course at the Academy is an introduction to the technical fundamentals and basic principles of professional lighting. Training I is also the first part of the basic training "Basic Certificate in Lighting Planning for Interior Lighting".Future lighting professionals will learn the most important basic terms and parameters related to modern interior lighting. The course also includes a thorough, cross-manufacturer discussion of modern LED and OLED technologies – including a trend outlook up to 2028. Economic questions and four to five exercises round out the course day.
A solid foundation in lighting is your first step. Benefit from our manufacturer-neutral training approach!
- Introductory positioning of light as a cross-sectional topic at the interface between architects, lighting planners, building owners, the electrical trade and component suppliers.
- Present and future trends in LED technology
- Lighting technology and luminaire-specific parameters in practical focus: luminous flux, illuminance, luminous intensity, luminance, glare, color temperature and color rendering, lifetimes and luminous flux declines (current classifications: LxBy, LxCy and LxFy)
- Artificial light types (lamps) and daylight indoors
- Human Centric Lighting (HCL): The interface between emotional and biological lighting effects
- Luminaire science
- Calculations on the energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness of lighting systems
- Creation of maintenance plans using LightBOOSTER 2.0
At the Lighting Planner Academy, the speakers always deliberately focus on practical teaching and closely involve the participants in the course. However, they often also emphasize holistic approaches, which are only subsequently related to practical application. Depending on the size of the group, the speakers supplement their lectures with group work or small workshops.
