5-day intensive course with certificate - Certificate type: Level 2

This level 2 course is a complete further education in hands on and computer based indoor lighting design. It starts from scratch but you will make rapid progress. Therefore, this course provides you with a solid base to tackle every day indoor planning tasks - from commercial surfaces up to a private loft.

The course program
Within 12 months, you will acquire the basic certificate in interior lighting (3-day introduction to lighting design, level 1) and the advanced certificate in interior lighting (3-day in-depth course, level 2). The two parts of the course can be booked individually or together as a 1-week course, as both parts of the course fit together seamlessly. Using practical case studies from the commercial, hotel, catering, retail and private property sectors, we teach you the normative and design constraints of lighting design and how to use the DIALUX EVO and RELUX planning software.
Our prioritisation is therefore the combination of technical, normative, economic and design topics of interior lighting with solid operational planning know-how - especially in implementation planning.

Basic certificate - 3 days - Level 1
With the academy's 3-day basic certificate in lighting design for interior lighting, you will acquire basic knowledge of professional lighting and its planning by hand and on the computer. The basic certificate is the first step on your way to becoming a certified lighting designer. This course provides you with a foundation for your lighting expertise in a professional working environment.

Advanced certificate - 3 days - level 2
The advanced course is also made up of 5 blocks of 4 hours each. The course deepens your planning lighting know-how and provides you with hands-on planning principles for interior design (lighting design) - from commercial spaces to private properties, which can be implemented with DIALUX to create (dynamic) complex renderings. Basic aspects of lighting system control will round off your knowledge.

To obtain the certificate, the participant must submit a homework assignment to the Academy within 4 weeks. This will further consolidate your knowledge of light.

Both parts of the course can also be completed together within one week.
Preparatory documents for "reading in and consulting", including further literature recommendations, will be sent to course participants by e-mail before the course begins.

The course fee for both the basic and advanced certificate is
1,395.00 EUR (1490 SFR in Zurich) + VAT incl. catering, LightBOOSTER 2.0 software, Dialux/RELUX, pCON Planner and Sketchbook. As 1-week course (basic + advanced): 2690 EUR + VAT.
Your effort is worth it!
You can now independently design lighting plans and execute them on a PC. You have a solid understanding of lighting technology, current standards, detailed planning with DIALUX/Relux on a PC, and lighting control. You also have a solid grasp of the basic design tools of interior lighting. You can demonstrate these newly acquired skills to clients with your certification.
Do you already know the pCON PlannerThe pCON Planner is a new rising star in the lighting industry. This freeware from the German software company Eastern Graphics enables the editing of DWG files, IFC files, etc., as well as the creation of high-quality renderings, similar to AutoCAD (Autodesk). The software therefore ideally complements DIALUX EVO – especially when it comes to CAD steps following a lighting calculation (e.g., combining EVO lighting calculations with DWG floor plans).
